Synopsis
Kyle has turned the Vivacia into a slave ship. Wintrow, his son, lives the horror. Meanwhile, Althea, disguised as a deckhand, earns her stripes on other seas, and Brashen Trell, her former love, crosses her path. Offshore, sea serpents gather, drawn by blood.
The volume of all ruptures. The Vestrit family explodes, the pirate Kennit pursues his secret plan, and the true stakes of Bingtown's maritime commerce reveal themselves in their brutality: slavery, an unnatural alliance with the Chalcedeans, the moral drift of a people who believed themselves noble. Le Navire aux Esclaves is one of the harshest volumes in the saga.
A ship that carries chains always ends up wearing them itself.
